  • The research was attempted to improve the students’ reading ability based on Descriptive Text by using RCRR (Read,Cover,Remember,Retell) Strategy for the eight grade students of MTS Al Ittihadiyah Lau DendangMedan.This study was conducted by CAR design in two cycle. The first cycle consisted of two meetings and the second cycle consisted of two meetings. The instruments of collecting data were reading test for quantitative data and observation sheet, interview sheet and diary notes for qualitative data. The subject of this study is the eighth grade students of MTS Al Ittihadiyah Lau Dendang Medan that consist of 24 students. Based on the reading test score, students’ score kept improving in every test. In the pre test the mean was 32,5. In the post test I the mean was 63,83 and the post test II was 73,75. Students were looking active and interested in reading. It means that the Implementation of RCRR Strategy through Descriptive Text are suitable for the eight grade students of MTS Al Ittihadiyah Lau Dendang and it was improve the students’ abilty.
