- THE EFFECT OF APPLYING CLUSTERING TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY AT MTS ISLAMIYAH YPI BATANG KUISIN 2016/2017 ACADEMIC YEAR Keyword: Clustering Technique, Vocabulary Mastery This research was aimed to know: (1) the student’s vocabulary mastery that was taught by using Clustering Technique, (2) the student’s vocabulary mastery that was taught by using lecturing method (3) wheter there was significant effect on the student’s vocabulary mastery at MTS. Islamiyah YPI Batang Kuis in 2016/2017 academic year. The instrument of collecting data were qualitative data from observation, interview, diary notes and documentation. The quantitative data were taken from test, which was carried out in the end of every cycle. The test was given to the students in the form of pre-test, post-test I in the first cycle and post-test II in the second cycle. Based on the result of the data analysis showed that the score of students increased from the cycle I until cycle II. It was showed from the mean of the pre-test was 52.74, there was 11.42% (4 students) who got successful score criteria 75 above. In the post-test of cycle I, the mean of the post-test of cycle I was 69.37, it was higher than the pre-test. There was 22.85% (8 students) who got successful score criteria 75 above. The percentage of the students’ score from the pre-test to the post-test of cycle I was 11.43%. In the post-test of cycle II, the mean of the post-test of cycle II was 75.97 and the percentage was 57.14% (20 students) who got successful score criteria 75 above. The improvement of the students’ score from the post-test of cycle I to the post-test of cycle II was improvement 34.29%. It showed that the implementation of Image Streaming technique was effective as it could improve students’ achievement in writing text.
