- The study was based on the background of the problems on the news of issues and land ownership conflicts management of Surabaya Zoo in Jawa Pos daily news. The theory that used was individual difference theory; this theory examines the differences between individuals as the target of the mass media when they are exposed so it was arisen certain effects. The method that used in this research is descriptive qualitative by using the technique of in-depth interviews to obtain more information about the existing problems. The results of this study , perceptions of Surabaya society on the news about conflict municipal goverment to take over land ownership and management of Surabaya Zoo. Surabaya Zoo tenure in Jawa Pos daily perception that there are two types of negative perceptions ( response against the contents of the reports ) and positive perceptions ( which supports the content of the response is ).
