- The purpose of this study was to determine the motive Surabaya viewer in watching “Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series” in RCTI. The theory used in this study are: Uses and Gratification theory, and the theory of needs. Methods of data analysis in this study using frequency tables and data from the research to be further analyzed by descriptive of any questions. The population in this study were viewer aged more than 17 years in the city of Surabaya is watching television cinema “Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series” in RCTI. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling. The result of this study it can be concluded that are three underlying motive in watching television cinema “Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series” in RCTI. which are information motive, the personal identity motive, motive of intertaiment in the high category because it can fulfill the viewers needs of the presence of humors from figure in a story of there and give new inspiration for all viewers.
