- Waste leachate is liquid waste generated by the Final Disposal (landfill) waste. Components contained in it among other components of dissolved organic, inorganic components, heavy metals and xenobiotic organic components which are usually found in low concentrations but suspected toxic and genotoxic efects. LPA Benowo, City of Surabaya is the biggest waste landfill for Surabaya and its surrounding areas as well as accommodate a wide variety of waste. This research was conducted as a preliminary test to detect the potential toxicity and genotoksisitas waste leachate taken from the LPA Benowo, the city of Surabaya on the tilapia. Tilapia used in this study is the tilapia which was about 5 weeks. The study was conducted in 2 phases, phase I obser\,ations of toxic effects of acute and ongoing phase II toxicity test, which can conclude LCSO is the concentration of leachate contamination that caused 50% of organisms die. Result of research got LC50 value was 2.8%, while the restriction NOEL (No Obser\,ed Efect Level) is a restriction where there is no significant efect, between 0% - 1.8%, while the physical impact on fish is a reduced number of scales, yellow skin, and fin and tail blister Key words: leachate, tilapia fish, NO
