  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of mycorrhizal fungi (Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhizae) on the development of fall seedling diseases (Rhizoctonia solani) in some varietes of cotton plants. This research uses Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which includes six treatment combinations of cotton varieties namely Tamcot, Kanesia thirteen varieties and Kanesia eight varieties each inoculated mycorrhizal and mycorrhizal inoculation, but all of them were inoculated with R. solani. Each treatment was repeated four times. To find the difference of each treatment, then made a test of Least Significant Difference (LSD) 5%. Results showed that fall seedling disease symptoms are not found collapsed on the cotton plant Tamcot varieties, Kanesia 13 and Kanesia 8 due to temperature and moisture in the soil is too high to support the growth of fungus Rhizoctonia solani. VA Mycorrhizal fungi found in roots of cotton plants is the genus Glomus, Gigaspora, and Scutellospora. VA Mycorrhizal fungi affect plant growth, plant height and weight of plant roots.
