- ABSTRACT In Indonesia, the weak position of farmer bargaining was one of the problems in agriculture in efforts to achieve the goal in terms of the agricultural revitalization. The research was aimed to get to know the rice farmer bargaining power and to analyze both internal and external factors of the famers that influenced much on the rice farmer bargaining power. The area determining and farmer sample by using the multistage sampling. While the data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis. The result showed that the farmer bargaining power in the villages of production centre during the rainy season in 2004 was 0,4636. While some determining factors that positively influenced on the the farmer bargaining power included the capital ownership offarm operations, paddy variety, the quality of rice, and payment system. Meanwhile, some factors that negatively in influenced were the urgent needs of the farmers.
