- Academic journals and other printed academic products such as short papers, thesis and dissertations are important for students' academic activities. Mostly, even not all, good quality of academic journals are written in English especially some academic journals which have high reputation in the world such as several academic journals from Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge and other qualified universities. By this reason, in this research, the writer will study on the using of English academic journals which are used by students in Library and Information Science Department. In this research, the writer employs qualitative research method by using interview and studying the printed report of students' academic works. He wishes this research will give information to the readers about the quality of using English references by students of Libarary and Information Science in UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta
