- This study aims to find a representation of librarian in The Shawshank Redemption’s film. This research is qualitative research and using Roland Barthes’s semiotic analysis, with the focus of this study is contribution by librarian. Collection data technique by watching, marking, and writing. The Primary source of this research is The Shawshank Redemption’s film, and secondary data, film posters, as well as writings relating to the object research. This film, try to tell us about the contribution from librarian. Librarian is a revolutionary figure, takes care of administration, shelves, and collections, and dominant positive impact on the users.
