  • This research is motivated by the fact that religious education in schools should ideally be able to develop students individual piety and social piety. However, religious education which is required by fostering the aspects of attitude, namely the willingness and determination to practice the values that have been taught actually only pays attention to the cognitive aspects. Realizing this, it is necessary to have real and sustainable solutions to develop students social piety. The development of students social piety requires habituation to the application of religious values in their daily activities at school. This habituation activity is referred to as religious culture which eventually becomes the lifeblood of activities carried out by school residents which have an impact on the development of students social piety. This study aims to describe: 1). The programme of strengthening the school's religious culture in developing student social piety at SMK Negeri 7 Yogyakarta 2). The process of strengthening the school's religious culture in developing student social piety at SMK Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. 3). Supporting and inhibiting factors for the development of student social piety through strengthening of religious culture at SMK Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. This research uses a type of field research (field research), and the approach used is descriptive qualitative analysis. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1).The process of strengthening religious culture begins with the policy of the principal and school stakeholders, formulating the school's vision, mission and goals, compiling programs for strengthening religious culture, and implementing religious culture targets. 2).Strengthening religious culture programs in developing students' social piety. SMK Negeri 7 Yogyakarta is realized through several activities, namely a) routine school activities, b) activities that are specifically programmed, and c) Islamic spiritual activities of Az-Zahra. Based on the findings in the field, these activities have an impact on the development of students social piety which is reflected in indicators of social solidarity, tolerance, mutuality, fairness, and social order. 3).The supporting and inhibiting factors for developing students' social piety through the support of religious culture at SMK Negeri 7 Yogyakarta are the support from the principal, support from the guardians of students, teacher participation, student support, and a conducive school environment. As for the inhibiting factors for the development of social piety through the support of religious culture is the negative influence of social media, gadget dependence, and instant culture among students.
