  • This Research is motivated by the current globalization which require people to care of children behaviour and attitude in order children can interact and socialize well. Remembering the education character become the first purpose in children education. So that, the education character becomes responsibility for all of aspects in the children education not just for formal and informal education but also non-formal education such TPQ and its kind. This research is a case study research with qualitative descriptive approach conducted at TPQ Al Mukhtar Mlokorejo. The purpose of this research to describe about: 1. The concept of education character at TPQ, 2. The implementation concept of education character at TPQ, 3. The impact and concept implications of education character at TPQ Al Mukhtar toward early childhood social development. Data collection techniques of from this research are observation, interview and documentation. The results show that the concept of character education in TPQ Al Mukhtar is how the children are able to know, understand, behave and implement character education instilled in students. Meanwhile, indicators of the success of character education in TPQ on social development are seen from children's attitudes and behavior change. As for the indicators as follows: religious attitudes and behavior, tolerance (accepting and loving peers), and caring about their social environment such as like helping others and so on.. The implementation of early childhood character education is integrated with the material in the Qira'ati Thoriqoh Yanbu'a Method which contains the intention of ablution, the intention to pray (five times) itself to become a priest and become a congregation, daily prayers, hadits -hadits related to daily life and short letters, namely through habituation and repetition and memorization starting from the age of 3-10 years. The impact and implications of the implementation of character education in TPQ on children's social development include students being able to have good morals and good behavior so that they have good social interactions with peers, family and society.
