- This research aim to determine how the role of community library (TBM) Teras Baca Guyub Rukun in empowering the people of Jambon, Argosari, Sedayu, Bantul. This research is a qualitative research. The data method’s collecting in this research is observations, interview, and documnentations. The results of this research coclude that: (1)TBM Teras Baca Guyub Rukun use collections as community empowering’s media, (2) community empowerment carried out by TBM Teras Baca Guyub Rukun is empowerment academic and economic fields, and it can seen from the activities that held in TBM Teras Baca Guyub Rukun. Benefits from the community empowerment are improving community of education, accessibility, and improving actions by the community as a result of the activities carried out, (3) Obstacles to TBM Teras Baca Guyub Rukun in implementing the sustainability of the community empowerment process in human resource to carry out and assist activities in TBM.
