- The Existence of harmony in human relationships depends on how the interaction occurs. Important aspects such as ethnicity, customs, and religion require good interaction with one another. One of the teachings in religion is to cultvate human brotherhood, regardless of different groups or races because every religion teaches goodness. This can be seens in the scenes of animation Upin & Ipin Chinese New Year Episode. This research discusses the patterns of religious social interaction in the animated film Upin & Ipin. The analytical method used is the semiotics / sign system developed by John Fiske with a qualitative descriptive approach. Using data in the form of scenes in the film and then categorized according to the research subject. From this research study, it can be concluded that, in the animated shows Upin and Ipin, the Chinese New Year episode has several patterns of religious social interaction. Namely interactions between individuals, interactions between individuals and groups and also interactions between groups. In this interaction pattern, there are three forms of social interaction, namely inter-communal, inter-communal and extra-communal.
