- It cannot be denied, nowadays more immoral behavior is happening among adolescents, ironically in this series of cases some occur among adolescents who are still status as students. This has become a whip for education managers who become the most important part of being able to prevent and improve the moral decline of the nation's generation. Therefore, the values of character education must be internalized in student participants, so that cases that do not naturally occur can be minimized. To enrich the treasures of character education thinking and become one of the references for educators, the authors conducted research on the educational thinking of the character of Ki Hajar Dewantara and its relevance to Islamic education. Both of these things have different perspectives, namely Ki Hajar Dewantara who tends to be nationalist while Islamic education comes from the Qur'an and Hadith. This research aims to describe the educational thinking of the character of Ki Hajar Dewantara and Islamic education according to Al-Ghazali and Ibn Khaldun. Furthermore, it will be analyzed related to its relevance between the education concept ofcharacter Ki Hajar Dewantara'sand Islamic education. This research is literary which focuses on the reference of books and relevant sources. Search data is sought by theapproach, research library which is a pure library research, using documentation methods that look for data on things or variables in the form of notes such as books, magazines, documents and so on. In this study concluded that under the thought of Ki Hajar Dewantara with Islamic education in certain aspects have similarities and differences. Parts that have relevance or similarity, namely, aspects of the method and aspects of the goal. Whereas the different aspects of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's educational thinking are that there is no founding that is closely related to monotheism, but rests on a universal and nationalist spirit. Furthermore, the basis of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's character is Pancadarma, while the principle in Islamic education is the Qur'an and al-Hadith which always prioritizes aspects of worship and faith.
