- This study was about the use of TCT to Improve students’ writing skill of narrative text at the grade XIA of MA Darussalam Subah Batang in the academic year of 2015/2016. The objectives of the research are as follows: 1). To describe the teacher’s performance of Talking Chip Technique (TCT) in teaching narrative text to improve students’ writing skill at the grade XIA of MA Darussalam Subah Batang in the academic year of 2015/2016)? 2). To describe the implementation of Talking Chip Technique (TCT) in teaching narrative text to improve students’ writing skill at the grade XIA of MA Darussalam Subah Batang in the academic year of 2015/2016)? 3). To describe the improvement of students’ writing skill of narrative text and students’ activeness in teaching and learning process after being taught using Talking Chip Technique (TCT) at the grade XIA of MA Darussalam Subah Batang in the academic year of 2015/2016)? This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) done through two cycles. The result of this research showed that the students’ mean score in preliminary research is 61.22, the students’ mean score in cycle 1 is 74.22 and the students’ mean score in cycle 2 is 81.44 and all of students were succeed in achieving minimum standard score (KKM). Besides that, students’ activeness in teaching and learning process was improved also. It could be seen from the result of step by step. The result of this research can be used as reference to the English teacher and the next researchers in order to improve students’ ability in writing Narrative Text.
