  • This study discusses the effectiveness of using two-stay two-stray method to teach students’ reading skill in recount text (An experimental study at eight grade of MTs Nurul Huda Banyuputih Batang in the academic year 2015/2016). Thesis, Semarang: Bachelor Program of English Language Education of Walisongo State Islamic University (UIN Walisongo), 2016. The objective of this study is to find out the effectiveness of using two-stay two-stray method to teach students’ reading skill in recount text at the eighth grade of MTs Nurul Huda Banyuputih Batang in the academic year 2015/2016. This research was quantitative research using experimental design. The participants of this research are 66 students that were divided into two classes, namely control class (30) and experimental class (33). The writer used cluster random sampling technique to determine the sample. The writer collected the data using test and documentation. Furthermore, the data was analyzed by using statistical analysis technique and the hypothesis used t-test. Hypothesis test shows that teaching reading recount text using two-stay two-stray is effective for students. This can be seen from the result of post test score, it shows experimental class which were given treatment using two-stay two-stray method and they got higher score that is 71.52 compared with the control class who did not give the same treatment. This class got 67.17. Based on this result, it is suggested that Two-stay Two-stray method can be used by the teachers to teach reading students’ recount text.
