Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap proses pembentukan karakter berperspektif global di pondok modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG). Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Metode observasi partisipan untuk menggali data kegiatan harian para santri PMDG. Wawancara dilakukan kepada sejarawan Gontor, para pengurus harian dan representasi santri PMDG. Dokumentasi untuk menggali dokumen-dokumen terkait kegiatan dan proses pembentukan karakter di lingkungan PMDG. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis menurut Miles dan Huberman. Uji Validitas atau keabsahan data dilakukan dengan menerapkan triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter santri di PMDG menganut perspektif global dengan berdasarkan pada tiga ciri khas: integratif, komprehensif, dan self-government. Hasil penelitian merekomendasikan model pembentukan karakter santri di pondok pesantren modern Darussalam Gontor yang dapat diterapkan di lembaga pendidikan Islam secara menyeluruh.&#xD; &#xD; ABSTRACT:&#xD; Many studies discuss character building in educational institutions both schools, madrasas and pesantren, but little reveals the formation of character in modern boarding schools with global perspectives. This research aims to uncover the process of forming a global perspective character in the modern boarding school Darussalam Gontor. The data collection methods used in this study were participant observations, in- depth interviews, and documentation. Observation method of participants was to explore the data of daily activities of the students of modern boarding schools Gontor Darussalam. Interviews were conducted to the daily administrators and representations of students modern boarding school. Documentation was to dig documents related to the activities and process of character building in the boarding school environment. The data analysis technique used is the analysis model according to Miles and Huberman. Validity test or validity of data is done by applying data triangulation. The results showed that the formation of santri character in Islamic modern boarding school Darussalam Gontor adheres to a global perspective based on three characteristics: integrative, comprehensive, and self-government.
