  • Recently, Development is leads to the use of spaces of the forest area. It has accelerated forest degradation and deforestation. As well as Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve that is adjacent to urban areas. Ecological approach to the habitat as the main variable will give a degree of vulnerability Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve area. This study aims to determine the level of vulnerability Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve area and formulate a management form Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve consideration of conservation status analysis and population pressure. This research uses descriptive quantitative method to analyze the geophysical characteristics of the spatial data using Geographic Information System (GIS) and used to analyze the vulnerability of the Conservation Status Index (CSI). Spatial analysis result data will be used to determine the conservation status or degree of vulnerability Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve area. Spatial analysis of habitat change, shown a significant change in habitat from year 2000 to year 2009. Primary forest area reduction of 139.725 ha (0.58%), reduction of secondary forests 452.566 ha (9.84%), agricultural land increased 394.560 ha (37 , 10%), open land 26.77% (146.971 ha) and shrubs 87.880 ha (14.55%), so that through the analysis of conservation status is obtained that the amount of intact habitat reaches 77.24% (24107.194 ha) and degraded reaches 22.76% (7102.518 ha) with a value of 40. Degree of fragmentation of habitat fragmentation showed a low level (low fragmentation) with fragments tend to cluster with a value of 24, the level of habitat protection that is divided from the forest reaches 90.53% (28253.872 ha) and 9.47% non-forest (2955.840 ha) with a value of 20. Analysis of the conservation status shown Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve are relatively stable with a total value of 84. Analysis of the management strategy Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve was formulated: 1) Increase the dissemination scheduled in order to increase public understanding of relevant importance Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve, 2) Strengthening institutional Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve, 3) Improve the management of collaborative management involving all components of society, especially indigenous peoples, 4) Improving the law enforcement for any violations in the region Cycloop Mountains Nature Reserve
