  • This study was specifically on the ecology of mangrove forest in the community level, where the study sites, there are four mangrove forest habitat located in around of Mining Consession PT. Stargate Pacific Resources Langgikima District, Northern Konawe Regency, Province of Southeast Sulawesi. Beginning with the purpose of managing mangrove forest habitat at the sites that should be based on the knowledge of the ecology of mangrove forest communities and their association with the surrounding environment. Therefore, the survey and data collection and processing is expected to produce outputs and outcomes for habitat management efforts. The steps of research method are the determination of the sampling technique (Method of measuring swath Census by combining into a grid system to facilitate the analysis of quantitative data), determine the number of plots used measure (defined when dealing with small locations and relatively easy to reach), the measurement of soil chemical properties , measurement of physical properties of water chemistry, analysis of community structure of mangrove forests, the density of different test average growth rate of trees in each habitat, the multivariate analysis (Principal Component Analysis / PCA and Redundancy analysis / RDA) and regression analysis. The results showed that there were twelve mangrove species found in the study site consists of eight true mangrove species and four species of mangrove minor. Habitat three is the habitat for types which eleven species found and habitat four is the habitat of the least number of species found. This type of Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora mucronata are the type which most often found in the four habitats. Environmental gradients that affect the abundance of each species found at the study site is different and each type has its own response to the gradient. Management and habitat restoration efforts in the study sites require intimate knowledge of mangrove species are adaptive to its environment.
