Learning motivation is defined as the driving force to cultivate the spirit of learning activities so that the desired objectives can be achieved. Goal setting training was identified as one of the ways that can be used to increase learning motivation. Participants were 20 second grade students at Vocational High School. Participants were selected based on the medium score categories results of learning motivation scale. Participants were divided into two groups: 10 students as the experimental group and 10 students as the control group, who will participate in the pretest, posttest and follow-up sessions. The experimental group given preferential treatment in the form of goal setting training , whereas the control group untreated with goal setting training. The Research design using a non-randomized pretestposttest control group design. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively using the Mann-Whitney U Test for experimental group pretest and posttest showed the value of Z = -1.061 (p>0.05) indicating no significant change between pretest and posttest. The same results were also obtained from measurements and follow-up posttest score of the experimental group with Z value = -0.304 (p>0.05). Based on the analysis concluded that goal setting training did not significantly increase students motivation to learn in vocational school.
