- Generally antenna having a large physical dimension causes expensive manufacturing cost and its installation is difficult. However, microstrip array antenna for recloser on the SCADA system should be design geometrically small and light, the installation system is relatively easy, and its production cost is cheaper. Aim of this study is to design a small dimension Microstrip antenna array that has a selective frequency of the signal parameters that can be received either in accordance with resonance frequency and the parameter that exist in the recloser communication system of PT. PLN (Persero) Distribution of Central Java and Yogyakarta. The basic principle of this antenna is resonance so that can be applied for various applications that has the same platform of resonance frequency of the antenna. This research will also design a microstrip antenna array based the previous finding of microstrip antenna. The method applied for determining parameters of the antenna is by mathematical calculation and the resulted antenna parameters were proved using HFSS (High Frequency Structural Simulator) software. The result showed that the designed Microstrip array antenna with fiberglass-epoxy substrat material has 1,407 mm thicknes, radiator of 32 elements, dimention of 7,604003 cm x 13,37 cm. Test results showed that antenna has center frequency of 900 MHz, VSWR of 1,247, reflection coefficient of 0,11, gain of 14,150 dB, and directifity of 26,20564 dB. The dimension is smaller, but the signal quality is comparably to that of the telecommunication system of recloser on the SCADA of PT PLN (Persero) Distribution of Central Java and Yogyakarta.
