- Defective return is one of important issue that bother NIKE operasional. It cause reduce customer satisfaction, reduce profit of company and reduce brand image. There are 7 causes of defective return are a. Stitiching, b. Air failure, c. Bonding, d. Material failure, e. Workmanship, f. Cosmetic, g. Misscelaneous. Material failure is the most contribute of defective return on NIKE shoe product therefore we focus to analize material failure to identify and find root cause of material failure then do action for continues improvement. TQM tool is used to analize material failure by using control chart, fishbone diagram to identify and find variables as root cause of material failure then we use responsibility matrix and action plan matrix to decide what kind action should be done to do continues improvement to minimize and prevent root cause of material failure. By doing continues improvement on variables that cause material failure, it can reduce defective return that is cuased by material failure and it can increae profit of company also increase customer satisfaction. Eventually it can create customer satisfaction, increase company performance and enhance brand image.
