- Most advanced countries are more than 70% of workers have been involved in the knowledge work. The Resources of developed countries derived from empowering information resources and knowledge, and is no longer resting on physical resources or nature. Therefore, any company trying to run various strategies for winning, one of which is the ability of these companies to manage corporate knowledge resource with effective. Peni Group is one of the companies engaged in the retail industry in Yogyakarta. In case the dissemination of knowledge is uneven. The process of knowledge transfer is done only up to managers, and company does not empower employees effectively. With the existence of this condition, the owner stated that the company's performance is not optimal is causing profit it brings no maximum. After data collected and analyzed the obtained results that knowledge transfer activity which is dominant is Internalization. Owners, managers and employees get new knowledge after involved directly to the stores by learning new things in the stores. The kind of knowledge that dominates is tacit knowledge. After getting a great deal of experience in doing business, owner transfer tacit knowledge to managers and employees. The Media used for knowledge transfer activities between the owner and the Manager is SMS and phone. Between owners and employee is using the formal meeting. Restricting factors of knowledge transfer is absorption capacity of the recipient are low and also the motivation of the recipient.
