- Transportation important role in human life and the small scope human will require the services of transportation to bring or send a wide range of products from and to other regions, giving rise to the high mobility. In addition to means of transportation that connects between one region to another, so that established a good cooperative relationship for the sake of development and progress of the area. Because of the importance of transportation and geographical conditions in the province islands of East Nusa Tenggara, waterborne transport is role of a very important. This study focused on evaluating the performance of existing services, evaluation of supporting infrastructure at the port, level of passenger satisfaction and how the right strategy for development. The results of the analysis in terms of service for load factor indicates has not been passed the plan load factor is still below 70%. Result of ferry needs analysis, it is known still need 17 (seventeen) ferry which means that there are less than 10 (ten) unit ferry. analytical evaluation of the port infrastructure is known only wait for passengers parking facilities that have a value above requirement should be or ideal (1000.0 m2) 1500.0 m2 which means having a excess of 500.0 m2, while for the other facilities there are known gaps or lack of ideal conditions. Results of the analysis of passenger satisfaction levels with the 30 (thirty) attribute to 390 (three hundred ninety) of respondents known to have 8 (eight) attributes that are very important, but performance is not satisfactory. Results of SWOT analysis there are some programs that need to be made include the rehabilitation of infrastructure, cooperation with stakeholders, improve service quality, develop waterborne transport to support the development of the region and open up isolated areas.
