- Licensing is required to provide legal certainty and the business activities undertaken by individuals or companies. In an effort to provide effective and efficient licensing, and can be accessed from anywhere and anytime we need a system of licensing information is accurate and actual. Information systems often do not go according to expectations, and sometimes only accessible by internal parties, external to the difficulty of obtaining information and the process control of the services provided. Licensing information system improvements to be conducted so that the system is more suitable for service providers and users. These improvements include the construction of information systems, database systems development, and implementation of information systems. This study attempted to analyze the failure of an information system and try to find the right formula, which in turn generates the appropriate licensing information system. The method in this research is to conduct surveys and interviews to the licensing service providers and users, to determine the causes of the failure of previous licensing information system. Furthermore, the results of surveys and interviews as well as regulations on licensing, used as a basis for licensing information system design is more appropriate for the Kantor Perizinan dan Penanaman Modal (KPPM) Trenggalek. The final results of this study is a prototype web-based licensing information system on KPPM Trenggalek.
