Daftar Isi:
- Background: Approximately 30,000 children of Indonesia die annually due to measles complications. Campak outbreaks occurred at District of Banyumas in 2008 with Attack Rate (AR=115), Case Fatality Rate (CFR=16.67%) and in 2009 outbreaks occurred three times. Achievement of Universal Child Immunization (UCI) of villages at District of Banyumas in 2009 was 99.4%. Program of measles immunization should reduce incidence rate of measles disease. Objective: To identify correlation between immunization status and time appropriateness in measles immunization and the incidence of measles disease at District of Banyumas. Method: The study was analytic observational with case control method. Cases were underfives diagnosed as having measles disease at health center and included in the surveillance program of Banyumas District Health Office in 2007-2011. Control comprised healthy underfives registered in the same integrated service post with the cases. Samples of each case and control consisted of 113 people. The independent variables were immunization status and time appropriateness in immunization whereas the dependent variable was the incidence of measles disease. Data analysis used bivariate technique. Result: There were as may as 113 cases of measles disease in 2007-2011. The result of bivariate analysis showed score of measles immunization was OR=2.733, 95%CI 1.329-5.783 and p=0.008 and time appropriateness in measles immunization was OR=3.085, 95%CI 1.793-5.307 and p=0.00, both were associated with the incidence of measles disease at District of Banyumas. Conclusion: Underfives that did not get measles immunization on time appropriateness had risk for having measles three times greater than those that had it on time appropriateness at District of Banyumas.
