- The open space is an important element of the city, either side of the open space as one of the elements that formed a city as well as a social activity as a container for the people of that city. the activity is a founding element of a public open space, resulting in the need to do designed as well as the identification of exploration. This research is performing identification and exploration against characteristic activities and open space so as to be drawn the relationship between both case study done at the open space public seaside city tanjungpinang as one open space public in the city . Writing this in see of aspect characteristic activities and lay out an open space formed . The method in use in the writing of this is a quantitative method, ekploratif and observations in the field. Observation result and analysis showed existence of difference between the location of the activities and characteristics of activity that occurred so that needs to be done some rearrangement in the formation of public space. Recommendations resulting from this writing is some parts that should be styled concerns the setting of physical activities and open space.
