- Web-based Spatial decision support system (SDSS) as customized GIS to answer specific problems was proposed to help non GIS-expert decision makers on their activities and communications. The main objective of this research was to develop such application for collaborative lahars disaster management especially for response and recovery phase of the impact on infrastructures at Sleman Regency. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were used to investigate their need of the system, the data availability, collaborative procedures, and evaluation of the application prototype. The results showed that there are several roles which were identified during interview processes. Each agency makes response and recovery plan and action based on their responsibilities when lahars disaster occurred. On their collaborative work, all decision makers from selected agencies agreed that spatial data is important in their communication. Unfortunately, they are realized that it is practically very limited and not adequate to fulfill their need. Accordingly, several data requirements were identified in this research. The data was collected and organized to develop geodatabase. On this development processes, 67% of respondents stated that spatial data is available in their agencies, but it varied in scale and newness. Yogyakarta Single Base Map was used on this system to solve the problem. Unfortunately, the differences the dataset and their own dataset were found. The geodatabase was elaborated with the MBMS to develop web-based interactive user interface (DGMS). Therefore, the application was utilized with specific spatial analysis tools i.e. temporary housing site selection, and some tools to select priority on infrastructures reparation. The users evaluation of the prototype resulted that almost all of respondents give a good mark to the system. 80% of them agreed that the application will be useful. However, some suggestion and feedbacks need to be accommodated to make the system fully implementable and user friendly.
