  • The Boarding as a subculture of people in Indonesia, especially Java, to be an alternative choice when the parents want their children to grow up in a conducive Islamic environment, the boarding considered able to face challenges and contemporary education problems, because its education and teaching processes are integrated. This study aims to reveal the dynamics of Javanese childrenâ��s adjustment in boarding who are affected by attachment and emotional intelligence. This study aims to test the hypothesis that attachment and emotional intelligence can predict the ability of the Javaâ��s child studentsâ�� adjustment. Subjects in this study were students at BQH boarding school at Jejeran Bantul, HMN and HMT boarding school in Palbapang Bantul, aged 10-12 years. The number of subjects in this study were 39 male and female students. Measuring devices used in this study is Adjustment, Emotional intelligence and Attachment scales. Statistical model used to test the hypotheses is multiple regression analysis. The results showed that (1) Emotional intelligence and attachment jointly can be a predictor of child adjustment capability (F = 70.710, p = 0.000 (p <0.001) which means a very significant with predictor contribution (R 2 ) 79.6%. (2) Emotional intelligence is a powerful predictor variable when compared with attachment to the child's adjustment. (3) Attachment itself can not be a predictor of child adjustment capabilities, and (4) Attachment is placed as a mediator variable, so used dummy analysis, attachment category is divided into two
