  • The purpose of this thesis is to explore case study of Company Strategic Alliances in the Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (Rural Banks) in Indonesia. The BPR industry planned Apex Bank BPR as their weapon to win fierceful competition with Commercial or Private Bank industry. As we know before, Commercial or Private Bank industry has been known for their strong human resources competencies, adequacy of capital and fully utilization of system information technology. The situation getting worse as they only have partly and limited access to sustainable and growing financial services as their suppliers which is a severe hindrance for the further development of the BPR industry. According to the situation aforementioned above, BPR Industry is trying to answer the problem by forming a Company Strategic Alliances, implemented by building an Apex Institution Pilot Project. Apex Bank BPR is expected to become an ideal institution to enhance their positioning that will equipped with all functions purposedly for strenghtening BPR industry resources. The BPR industry arguing that Apex Bank for BPR is an ideal center of activity formula to fulfill the market and winning the competition. Thus it must be build, operate and managed by themselves. Those function needs to be work in order to gathered all the potential resources they may have, hopefuly it will give better services to their primary customer which is, Small, Micro Enterprise Company (SMEâ��s). In regards with complexity of the whole aspect of BPR industry, the writer purposedly limiting the case study in particular region or provinces for the years 2005-2007 only. There are some techniques for collecting data in this thesis, both primary and secondary data. Also the writer has been using integrative literature review about BPR and strategic alliances. This thesis try to describe at best with descriptive qualitative study including the succes and also failure of BPR strategic alliances that happened along the process of this interesting case study.
