- Background of Choosing the Subject: The lack of patient presence in Dentistry undergraduate program arouses the need of learning method that facilitates the students to deal with cases and clinical reasoning. DENTIENTS is developed as computer-based simulation program which completes learning source to learn clinical reasoning. Objective: The research is carried out to develop and to evaluate the effectiveness of DENTIENTS as learning method for clinical reasoning Method: The research has design of quasi experimental to measure knowledge, which is assessed by MCQ pre-test and post-test, and clinical reasoning, which is assessed by SACRR questionnaires (Self Assessment of Clinical Reflection and Reasoning). The subject of the research is all undergraduate students of Dentistry, Medical Faculty of Brawijaya University on semester 7 that are classified randomly into experiment and control group. Result: The analysis result of average point of pre-test and post-test of experiment group shows that 31 people (93,94%) increase their knowledge for 18,91 point and 20 people (60,61%) increase their clinical reasoning for 10,00 point. On the other hand, 19 people in the control group (67,86%) increase their knowledge for 9,21 point and 16 people (57,14%) increase their clinical reasoning for 3,78 point. The test result of Mann Whitney shows that the increase of knowledge and clinical reasoning in experiment group is significantly different with the increase of those in control group (p<0,005).
