- Joko Tolà ̈ myth which becomes the source of this study is taken from Babad Sumenep text. The entire story of Babad Sumenep is the myth of Madura. Joko Tolà ̈ myth is the literary work which is created consciously by the Madura people, but contains the unconscious element which has possibilities to be valued. This research is the qualitative descriptive research. The primer data which has been obtain through the reading process of the existed Joko Tolà ̈ myth is then continued by quoting the text of the story in the myth. The secondary data is the data which has been obtained through the library study related to Madura culture which has relevance with this research. This research is trying to interpret the unconscious aspect which comes in human mind of Madura people. The Structuralism theory of Levi-Strauss is used as the analysis model to find the innate and the meaning of Joko Tolà ̈ myth. The innate structure is found as the core of the interpretation of deep structure, while the meaning of myth is understood as the element of Madura culture which is unconsciously written by the myth creator. There are three steps of analysis based on Structuralism. The first step is surface structure
