- This study aims to determine the quality of education at the Public Elementary School in Mentawai Islands Regency in 2011. This study uses secondary data contained in the Departement of Education. The analysis tool used are multiple linier regression and simple linier regression using the OLS (Ordinary Least Square). The dependent variable in this model are the average value of Bahasa Indonesian test (B), Mathematics (M) and IPA (I) with the independent variable are the last class of students/examinees (X1), the number of teachers including the principals (X2), the ratio between teachers and students (X3), the numbers of teachers in the study (X4) and the number of certified teachers (X5). The results of regression analysis showed that by using a = 0,05, the number of the last class of student/examinees (X1), the numbers of teachers including the principals (X2) as well as the number of certified teachers (X5) are significantly influence the average value of the Bahasa Indonesia (B) and Mathematics (M) test. The variables that more influenced on the average value of IPA (I) test are the number of teachers including the principals (X2) and the number of certified teachers (X5).
