  • Insurance service is one of the business sector that has much profit and general insurance industry has big level of growth. Its supports from fast growth of technology and modern information system, so the big corporation companies want to reduce the risk by insure their risk. Indonesia is a developing country and the biggest fourth citizen in the world. Indonesia has the potency of market section and also added with trend of growth resident fastly. It makes local companies and foreign joint venture companies interested to enter business of general insurance industry. The rivalry that must be worried by company is the competition with foreign joint venture companies that have large capital and also local conglomerate company which have another business that has a synergy. Company in face the competition of general insurance industry must always evaluated their competitive strategy to become market leader in the industry. For that, can be used SWOT Matrix Analysis for evaluating the company strategy and Grand Strategy Matrix Analysis to formulate the alternative strategy that can be used forward. As the report evaluation of company strategy using SWOT Matrix, PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (PERSERO) is categorized into Quadrant I. It means that PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (PERSERO) has applied the aggressive strategy and has a big competitive advantage in response business opportunity. Company competitive advantage can cover the weakness and company has a good response to catch the opportunity and avoid the threats. As the report analysis using Grand Strategy Matrix, the company forward can implement the alternative strategy such as market development, market penetration, product development, forward integration, horizontal integration and consentic diversification.
