  • Background: Mortality in perinatal age is an important indicator of health care, maternal health and nutrition. This indicator also describes the quality of the existing obstetric and child care. Social factors and the advancement of medical care greatly affect the outcome of birth. Mortality rate in perinatal age is a useful indicator to determine the state of delivery service both in the use of the service or services that guarantee that a healthy baby is born. Morbidity and mortality in perinatal and neonatal period are largely due to maternal health and behavior. Intervention in the form of maternal care before pregnancy, during pregnancy, during birth, postpartum and newborn care should be taken to reduce the risk of deaths in perinatal and neonatal period. Objective: To assess the impact of prenatal care on perinatal age survival in Indonesia.
