  • In road construction, the utilization of fixed bed processed fly ash as materials is limited and also small in quantity. An abundance of this fly ash can be found at PT. Yogyatek in Yogyakarta. Yogyatek fly ash is a disposed coal ash resulted from coal burning by the steam generator in this garment factory. In this research ̧ Yogyatek fly ash was used as substitute mineral filler in asphalt paving mixtures. Research on utilization of Yogyatek fly ash as filler was conducted in the Hot Rolled Sheet â Wearing Course mixture, with filler content is 8%. Variations of Yogyatek fly ash in the mixture tested were 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and the variations of asphalt content were 5.5%, 6%, 6.5%, 7%, 7.5%, 8%. Marshall method was performed to determine the Optimum Asphalt Content. Based on this OAC, Marshall Immersion Test was proceed to investigate the Retained Marshall Stability (RMS) and Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) test to investigate the Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR). Both of this tests gave the informations about influences of Yogyatek fly ash utilization on the moisture susceptibility of specimens and to select the optimum Yogyatek fly ash utilization in the mixture. The research results shown that in variations of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% Yogyatek fly ash in the HRS-WC mixture, the Optimum Asphalt Contents are at 6.7%, 6.72%, 7.0%, 7.5% and 8.08%. RMS values of the variations were 94.22%, 94.32%, 96.93%, 99.24%, 93.41% respectively, with minimum RMS value required was 90%. TSR values were 85.51%, 87.29%, 98.20%, 92.92%, 83.04% respectively, with minimum TSR value required was 80%. Based on the overall parameters, the optimum content Yogyatek fly ash utilization in the gap graded HRS-WC mixture which recommend is 75% of Yogyatek fly ash at 7.5% Optimum Asphalt Content.
