- This study aims to explain what is the main problem and how the implementation of governmental policy of delegation of some authority to the Head of Sub-District (Hereinafter reffered to as Camat) in Sleman regency. The phenomenon of the delegation implementa tion of some authority to the subdistrict is an indication of a problem. Research carried out by field studies and literatu re. Field studies by searching the primary data through dire ct observation and interviews with elected policy makers and all of Camat in Sleman regency. Literature study is used to find secondary data such as doc uments, archives legislation, relevant reference books and others. The results showed that delegation implementation some of governmental authority to sub-district had been less satisfactory. According to Law No. 5/1974 Camat executed the delegative and attribu tive authorities. According to Law No. 22/1999 authority of the Camat marginalized, in fact there was no special section set up the main tasks & functions. Camat into the area that carried out delegative authority. According to Law No. 32/2004 a little revitalization policy, at least publishing a special section that regulates fundamental duty definitively of th e main tasks & functions in Article 126 paragraph (3) . Camat carrying out the delegative and attributive authorities but operationally, there has not been significant implementation progress and remain marginalized. Some of governmental authority delegate to the sub-district in Sleman Regency No. stipulated in the decree. 29/Kep.KDH/2002 September 14, 2002. But until now has never been evaluated systematically and comprehensively. By using financial indicators & employees, apparently is not running as expected. It takes a strong commitment, concequent and consistent by all stakeholders in the present and future, to give serious attention on the strategic policy, so it can be re-found and re-formulate the appr opriate conditions the delegation some of governmental authority to the sub- district and the appropriate juridical conditions on the one hand and the dynamics of community development in the other side.
