- The purposes of this study are to explain various myths that spread around Indonesia and related these to the contribution in the studty of environmental ethics. This study is a library research with a model of philosophical analysis with methodical steps are: description, interpretation, and reflection. The results of this study shows that Indonesia has various myths that related to echological aspects on concerving sacred places. People related these myths with the rituals and the conduct of their life to the good moraliy into environments, although not all community have sacred places related to the ecological motivation. Conservation conduct of the people supports the study of holistic point of view on environments
