- <p>Molecularly imprinted polymer modified glassy carbon electrode (GC-MIP) has been developed for the uric acid determination. Polymer was synthesized from methacrylic acid as monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylic acid as cross linker and uric acid as template with a mole ratio of 1:3:1. Establishment of MIP was carried out by extracting of the uric acid from polymer network. The optimum potential of MIP coating obtained was -0.4 V, while the accumulation time used was 60 seconds. The modified electrode was characterized voltammetrically by comparing the voltammogram of uric acid obtained by using GC- MIP with GC and GC-poly methacrylic acid (GC-polyMAA). The current signal obtained from the analysis using GC and GC-polyMAA is higher than using the GC-MIP, but the voltammogram obtained using GC- MIP has narrower in baseline and more Gaussian. The sensitivity of GC-MIP was 0.227 µ
