- Background: Pathological disorder on arteries or blood flow may become risk factors of ischaemic stroke still a controversy. Peripheral occlusion can be measured objectively by ankle brachial index (ABI). ABI is a simple examination to measure the peripheral arteries occlusion and ABI level < 0.9 may associate with ischaemic stroke Objective: To investigate association between ankle brachial index score and ischaemic stroke Method: Design of this research is cross sectional, ankle brachial index will measure by palpation to all of the patients who diagnosed ischaemic stroke and non ischaemic stroke with consecutive sampling. Association between ABI score and other risk factors with ischaemic stroke will statistically analyzed. Result: Among 106 adults, 53 ischaemic stroke patients and 53 non stroke, 33 patients (31.1%) from all patients have ABI score <0.9, All risk factors analysis show significant association to ischaemic stroke with hypertension (RP 1.90
