  • The most important domain on someoneâ��s life is work and family. Everyone have specific roles on it, and ideally he/she trying to balance it. But, it will lead work-family conflict as the demand is incompatible each other. Based on role theory, work-family conflict affect someoneâ��s well-being. Well-being indicate someoneâ��s happiness and sobriety, so itâ��s important to concern on it. In the current research, work-family conflict identified into two form, i.e. time-based and strain-based conflict. While well-being measured by job and family satisfaction. Prior researches didnâ��t investigate the role of emotional intelligence as a moderator in the relationship of work-family conflict and well-being. Therefore, the current research examine the role of emotional intelligence on it. Data collected using survey method by questionnaire. The respondents in the current research is headmasters. Data of perceived work-family conflict gained from coupleâ��s perceive. It is aimed to get more valid data about perceived workfamily conflict, which rarely done in the prior researches. In the current research, the hypotheses testing used multiple regression and hierarchical (moderated) regression analysis. Results showed that strain-based conflict negatively affect job satisfaction. Emotional intelligence founded as a moderator variable in the relationship of strain-based conflict and job satisfaction.
