Daftar Isi:
- Conversion of forest to monoculture oil palm plantations are often considered as a factor causing land degradation, particularly in acid soil and wet climates. The study was conducted in Oil Palm Plantation in Siak Riau Province, aims to determine how much influence of the duration of oil palm monoculture cultivation on soil quality dynamic of an Inceptisol. The data used is the time series, in the form of secondary data collected from the same laboratory analytical results of the research plots and the same sample, from 1989 to 2009. Retrieval of primary data in the form of soil profile descriptions was done in the year 2011. Experimental design in the field was arranged in a Completed Randomized Block Design (CRBD) single factor by comparing the duration of different land uses of the same soil family. The results of this study indicate that based on soil quality index value, that the duration of land use 10 years have the best soil quality, indicated by a high index of soil quality and good land suitability classes. Soil quality on land use duration of 0 (planting), 6 and 10 years was not significanly different statistically. Soil quality indexes of the different land used durations from high to low values, respectively are as follows : 0,560 (T-10)
