  • The beaches of Tanggultlare, Kartini, Teluk Awur and Tirta Samudra are the tourism destinations in Regency of Jepara. Due to the waves, as these tourism beaches are straightly located towards the Java sea, these beaches are becoming vulnerable to a shoreline change. The change then worsen by an absence and a lack of optimization in regard to the protection of these tourism beaches. Thus, in order to analyze the shoreline change, this study is conducted by applying waves parameter analysis which derived from a generated waves throughout simulating the sea surface wind as well as determining an appropriate protection to minimize the coastline change for 20 years further. The Shoreline change at the tourism beaches of Jepara is analyzed through applying Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) as well as sediment continuity method to GENESIS Software. Techniques brought regarding to the change of the shoreline in RS and GIS processes were on screen digitization, overlay also digital shoreline analysis system (DSAS). Furthermore, as the Oceanography analysis is carried with GENESIS Software, the analysis conducted through waves forecasting applying an hourly wind data during 10 years in analyzing the sea surface wind characteristics (i.e. wind direction and velocity), deriving the wave characteristics (i.e. height, period, direction, properties, types and the waves flux energy), current, tidal as well as sediment transport, particularly during the west winds period. Moreover, GENESIS is also applied in simulating the shoreline change 2010-2030 based on the actual condition as well as structural shore protection. Results of the overlay processes of Quickbird in 2001, 2007 and 2010 as well as an empirical approach of the shoreline change due to Oceanographic parameters showed that those tourism coasts suffer from erosion and sedimentation. Moreover, the average shoreline change for each beaches during 2001-2010 are Tirta Samudra (4.37 m eroded, 6.27 m, deposited), Teluk Awur (4.66 m eroded, 4.48 m deposited), Tanggultlare (35.7 m eroded) and Kartini (1.56 m eroded, 1.92 m deposited). Furthermore, mostly the high waves are coming from the west, the north west as well as from the north during the west winds period. The determining values for the potential erosion and sedimentation at the tourism beaches varied between 0.073-0.102, means that the beaches are in their equilibrium. Results of the shoreline changes estimation during 2010 - 2030 due to the existing condition which is brought through GENESIS simulation are namely as
