Aim: To obtain a description about number and qualification of human resources for drug procurement in North Konawe district health office. Methods: The research was descriptive with case study design. Result: Absent of planning and recruitment of human resources both in number and qualification as required for conducting drug procurement. The committee for procurement and drug examiner/receiver was in odd number, consisted of chief, secretary, and members. Human resources were from health office and other institutions. No human resources with pharmacy educational background were included within the committee of drug procurement and this lead to inadequate knowledge in drug specifications. Lack of personnel experienced training. Unclear job description lead to inefficient work. Drug procurement with large number and types with big budget and the absence of teamwork in the committee lead to high and uneven distribution of work load. Limitation in working experience in the committee of good/service procurement. Providing compensation for human resources had not yet considered the work load and professionalism in conducting drug procurement. Conclusion: Human resources support for drug procurement in North Konawe district health office was not yet optimal to support drug procurement that it affected drug availability.
