- Panji stories is one of the classic story that has been circulating among people. This classic story is not only influential in Indonesia but extends to the outside Indonesia. One variant of the Panji stories in Bali is the Wangbang Wideya. Song of Wangbang Wideya were subjected to experiments by SO Robson dissertation with the title Wangbang Wideya: A Javanese Panji Romance. Panji stories also contained in the show Malang mask dance dramas, puppet. The problems studied in this thesis is how the transformation from the Panji stories in the book Wangbang Wideya: A Javanese Panji Romance to the show Malang mask dance dramas puppet plays Panji Reni. This study uses philological approach, dramaturgy, and literature. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques include literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. This study shows that the end result of a transformation story in the book Wangbang Wangbang: A Javanese Panji Romance to the show Malang mask dance dramas, puppet plays Panji Réni in terms of theme, character, background and other aspects. Panji story theme is equally about the romance. Travel groove includes exposition, instability, conflict, climax, denoument. Character when it has been transformed is Raden Panji Asmara Bangun equated with Raden Makaradwaja, Goddess Angrà ̈ni by Raden Dyah Kesawati, Goddess Sekartaji Candrakirana by Raden Warastrasari, King and Queen with the King and Queen Jenggala Kuripan, King Klana Maduratna with King Lasem. Gadhing figures, Layaran, Pamecut in the show Malang mask dance dramas puppet plays are transformed into characters Wirapaksa Doctrine, empu Siwasmreti, and Banak Sudira. Demang Jaya Sentika, Tumenggung Cakrawati, Tumenggung Singanegara and Tumenggung Carangan in the show Malang mask dance dramas puppet theater is transformed into King Camara, Pajang King, and King Manungkuli. Transformation of the place setting includes: castles, forests, and mountains. Background time when transformed into puppet mask dance drama performances Malang is the time morning, noon and night. While the transformation of social background includes: among the upper classes and lower classes. Other aspects include clothing and jewelry, musical instruments, and art forms. The same outfit is a dagger, ring, crown, pants, bracelets, belts, and corsets. Musical instruments include saron, gender, gong and gamelan (Javanese music instrument set). Art that included the puppet, gambuh, and raket.
