  • The venom of Viperidae may contains anti-angiogenesis proteins so that can be used as cancer treatment therapy. Cancerâs growth greatly depends on angiogenesis, the formation of new vessels from the existed vessels of the host toward the cancer tissues. The blockage of angiogenesis process of the cancerâs tissues is cancer therapy alternatives. White-lipped green pit viper is one of the Viperid that abundantly can be found in Indonesia. This study is to know the effect of the snake venomâs protein on breast cancer angiogenesis. In this study, protein fractions of the ammonium sulphate concentration considerably 30% (FP30), 60% (FP60), and 100% (FP100) saturation were used, each has dilution of 50x, 2500x, and 5000x. Antiangiogenesis test was done by using Chorio-Allantoic Membrane (CAM) of chick embryo that were implanted by the normal and breast cancer ratâs graft. Forty-five chicken eggs day 10 were divided into four groups of control and eleven groups of treatments, each had three replications. The study result showed that snake venomâs protein FP60 may inhibit cancer angiogenesis.
