- This study aims to determine: 1) Is the root causes of conflict in the determination of the boundary area between the city of Sorong in Sorong District, 2) Are the impacts arising from the conflict, 3) Resolution is carried out within the framework of settlement of the conflict. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documents. Informant interviewed was the Vice Regent of Sorong, Sorong Assistant II, Head of Governance and the City Sorong, Sorong Chief, District Chief, traditional leaders, the surrounding community. The results of the analysis the study found: 1) the factors causing conflict within the border of affirmation by the City Sorong Sorong district can be divided into: the law and history. 2) the effects arising from the conflict is the concern of the surrounding community will be horizontal inter-community conflict as it begins to appear crystallization mass and mutual support between the two parties, although to date it has not happened horizontal conflicts. 3) a responsible actor in the context of conflict resolution are two autonomous regions that border it: The district government of Sorong and Sorong. 4) a resolution made in resolving the current conflict in the form of facilitation of the Governor of West Papua.
