- This research was intended to identify implementation of monitoring by regional supervisory council in Klaten regency over notary based on Law number 30 year 2004 concerning notary. In addition, it was also to find out various obstacles the Klaten Local Supervisory council found in monitoring notary and ways to deal with the obstacles. This research was juridical sociological with non random sampling technique and purposive sampling technique. Research subject consist of respondents including 6 notaries in Klaten and 2 members of Klaten local supervisory council and informant of two academicians and head of Legal service division in Law and Human rights Office of Central java. Data was analyzed qualitatively, presented in descriptive-analytical manner and inferred with inductive logic method. Supervision by Klaten notary supervising council have not run according to Law number 30 year 2004 concerning Notary. It is reflected from less maximal supervision. In 2009, Klaten notary supervision council did not make annual routine examination and in 2011 there is no certainty when examination will be conducted. Obstacle in doing supervision over notaries in Klaten in less operational fund, less equipment and infrastructure, bad coordination between MPD and notaries in Klaten and busyness of each MPD member. Efforts by MPD in dealing with the obstacle are collecting voluntary fund from supervised notary for operational fund, borrow equipment and infrastructure from MPD member, including transportation and accommodation, rescheduling examination over notary and making more optimal coordination among members, in which working agenda was made long time previously in order to avoid busyness of each member.
