- This Legal review of Notary�s self-advertisement in City of Yogyakarta research aim to acquaint the congruence between Notary Self-advertisement, Law of Notary Profession (UUJN) and Notary�s Ethic Code, and also to acquaint House of Regional Supervisor (MPD) and Honorary Board of Regional (DKD) especially in City of Yogyakarta in accordance to Notary�s self-advertisement. This research is a legal research with empirical-juridical approach, a research based on field research to found the legal primary data, and also library research to support the field research data. Primary data based on field research obtained by interview method towards respondents. Interview was taken by applying unstructured interview principle tools. Secondary data based on library research obtained by library study method. Collected data was analyzed qualitatively, which is group and select data obtained from library theories study, then connected with field research based on the quality and truthfully, so that answer to the problem can be obtained Results of this research first indicated that there is self-advertising by some notary in City of Yogyakarta which is forbid by UUJN and Notary Ethic Code (KEN). The prohibition be found on article 18 number �d� Ministry of Judiciary and Human Rights act number: M-01.HT.03.01 2003 about Notary and article 4 paragraph (3) Notary Ethic Code. Self-Advertisement by notary was an act of degrading notary dignity and notary profession and also against the article 4 paragraph (9) Notary Ethic Code which is prohibit the attempts that can be lead to unfair competition between the fellow notary. Second, the role of the MPD and DKD in Yogyakarta to conduct training, supervision and inspection for the Notary has been running well by providing sanctions in the form of guidance, a letter of reprimand, a letter warning against self-advertising Notary.
