  • Internet as an information sources, has became an important necessity for those who want to go forward. All information saved in this virtual world and almost can be accessed by everybody. As an education institution, Bandung State Polytechnics has an obligation in providing infrastructures for this internet access. However, Laboratories of Electronic Engineering has not providing optimum infrastructures for it. Meanwhile, thereâs internet access gateway facility in Laboratories of Telecommunication Engineering building that has not been optimally used yet. This research develops a Wireless Mesh Network, using wireless as a transmission media. Wireless mesh network use four router wireless WRT54GL made by Linksys with Freifunk is used for firmware and on research called as a meshbox. Implementation in area testbed use four meshbox with single cell series and semiserial multi cell topology. The longest distance in the measurements is 320 meter line of sight, that links connect between Telecommunication Engineering Laboratory building as a gateway for internet access with building Electronics Engineering Laboratory. To maintain reliable fixed network, then use the routing protocol is Optimized Link State Routing. Measurement result shows that single cell has 5.766 Mbps and multi cell has 11.428 Mbps throughput. In user side, internet access rate throughput for single cell and multi cell is the same, which is 78 kbps for download and 30 kbps for upload. This is meaning that throughput provided by this mesh wireless network is enough for internet access. Expected Transmission Count (ETX) value is 3.346 for single cell and 3.849 for multi cell. These values contribute in OLSR routing protocol availability for self-configure and self-healing. All these result shows that this mesh wireless network can be used by people in Laboratories of Electronic Engineering building for internet access using gateway from Laboratories of Telecommunication Engineering building.
